booklovers, you're not alone.
If your idea of a romantic night is cosying up with a well-thumbed copy of 'Moby Dick', if you chuckle to yourself over the funnier passages of 'Bridget Jones's Diary' and wish you had someone to share it with, if your last date thought 'On the Road' was a travel memoir in the vein of Bill Bryson then there is hope for you.
Speed dating in libraries- it's high time. What books would you bring as your talking points? I always shirk at trying to narrow my favourites to one or two titles so I guess it would depend on my mood on the night- if I went today, I guess I would bring 'Remains of the Day' by Kazuo Ishiguro and 'Orlando' by Virginia Woolf. Make of that what you will, virtual friends.
And if the face-to-face interaction with real, live, breathing people is too confronting, it's okay. I do understand. And there's a website for you too. It's called Bookshelf Porn- go crazy but play safe.
